My bad, I thought Infinity was spelt Infiniti......
damn lucky a G at 16? when i was 16 i could only afford a 90 toyota collora (clean *** car w/ many memories, slow as f*ck) $1000. then i wrecked that bitch and bought a 98 240sx se $6000 (badass car mint condition, back wheel drive OMG orgasm, first car i mod, sr20)... friend wrecked that bitch on a rainy night, then i bought a used 99 honda accord sedan v6 $10000 (eh, gave it to my little bro), because i bought a brand new 04 G little over $37,000 (that's my baby). I am now 24. I guess if the kid can afford to buy the car then they should be able to drive whatever the f*ck they want. live and learn. i turned out semi okay. and yes i bought my cars don't ask how tho.
imo... i dont think the POWER is to much for sum1 that is 16 but generally when sum1 is 16 they have mommy and daddy helping them pay for the car.
i think you appreciate and take way better care of it when its all on u to make the $350+ a month car payment + insurance + gas..
when that stuff is all on u solo u are a little more carefull cause any repairs u have to make = no partys for a while : /

No smart one but your post proves my point. Shouting out three cuss words just to try and make your point. It's not about anyone claiming to be better so they need to take a lesser car. It's a maturity level. So some hotshot comes along in a cobra and starts mouthing off. Somehow I dont see you thinking, "all the hard work i put into buying this thing i'm not just gonna run some dumb cobra cause he thinks he's bad". More than likely, most 16 year olds will try and prove they are bad and race in some dangerous street (prob even a school zone cause....ur in school) and make dumb decesions.
This thread is aiming more towards the thought that young people "cant' handle the power". And while the power is nothing to brag about, smart decesions are. And my comment was directed towards the people who I saw posting earlier saying....."ohhh it's no big deal. It's just 30 thousand......" So take your "Mr. Bad" attitude somewhere else cause I dont have time to argure with a high school kid.
(p.s) I am living to damn good to be jealous of a 16 yr old keyboard warrior on the internet. And guess what.....I pay for it all myself.

Amazing how teens think they are objective enough to render sound opinion on how experienced they are as drivers. To make an objective assessment on what level of maturity or experience is required for particular conduct I think you have to be past the level being evaluated. Students don't grade their own tests at school and employees don't promote themselves at work.
Without question there are some exceptional young adults out there. A few of them have contributed to this thread with the voice of reason rather than the voice of instinct.
If the G ( or any performance car), by its essence, does not encourage riskier driving habits among young drivers, why are so many teens and young adults on this forum modding their cars? So they can never race? So they can never drift?

Thats about it.
And my car was not 30grand. It was 19k. My parents gave me 10k for the trade and i have payments to pay off the other 10k. $234 a month.
No, i dont pay for insurance. my mom works for allstate. She hooks us up (and shes also told my dad it was a good, safe car that will run awhile, she didnt want me driving a civic because they are to unsafe for her) i pay for my gas, but thats only $32 every like, 3 weeks.
What's wrong with all the old folks is they forget when they were 16 and knew everything, could do everything and were indestructible. I was, then I finished high school, went into college and got dummer and dummer as years went by. I became as stupid as my parents were when I was 16, now as I got older, somehow they started making sense (maybe they are getting smarter as I get older). Now somehow my children are smarter than I am, know everything, can do it all. So the life cycle goes on, but one thing remains: "The average life expectancy of a 16 year old's car is about 12 months". Take it from someone that knew it all when he was 16.

i got my g35 coupe 2 weeks after i turned 17, im turning 18 in 2 months. yes it is my first car and yes i have the mentality of 24 year old, i dont show off, unless there is a cute girl(s) in my car, haha. but yeah i took it pretty well. and now im amazing with my car,
^Dont get me wrong. There is plenty of responsible young guys out there. And the G is no exotic that I believe only older drivers should have. (in my book nobody under 18 should own an lambo/f355 or later ferrari). Maturity can come at any age. And for those of you that possess it....my hats off to you. It's the "others"........ We all drive great cars here, so it's not about "hating" on anyone of us.
