you don't have the minimum break in periord ie..1500 miles minimum inorder to push it hard. If you do, then you drive alot more than i do . Racing around in a brand new engine can cause the motor to fail prematurely. Not only that, but it's not even at its full potential. Which probably explains why can't hang with certain cars yet. It hasn't enough time to settle in. FI is for cars that are past the break in periord. Going FI would indeed insure the motor blowing. You can search around the forums and see for your self.

or go FI and dont look back and dont look at your credit card bill.

theres so much testing done on our engines before going into our cars... theres pretty much zero break-in period. the break-in period is not really for the engine but the rest of the car mainly. i heard our cars run best after 15,000 miles (yesm 15 thousand miles) so if you want ot consider that the break in period
i know people who redline their VQs off the lot and not a single problem at 40k miles

Give the newb a break. LOL.

No, seriously. If beating your friend's cars are a priority, then maybe you should have gotten another car.

get every bolt on...tune it...then gut the interior, trunk, and put racing seats...then your g will be fast...im sure you wont go as far as gutting the interior though...

Thank you.

Sorry, but any of you guys arguing that driving the car hard right from the start will mess it up are plain wrong. The rings need to seat, you need to put the car under a considerable amount of different types of loads for that to happen. When I bought my Cobra brand new in 04, I pulled it out of the showroom, dropped the top, and left the dealership sideways. I made sure to let everythign get up to operating temp first, i think that is very important, but once everything was warmed up it was game on. There was a reason why my car ran so hard at the track, while others didnt. I have never had a single problem withteh car, and it always runs smooth and hard. And that's because I have great seal from the rings and my compression across the board in each cylinder is dead on. IMO you can't accomplish this as well when you are driving the car like a wuss.

Proper break-in or not, this engine just needs some good ol' miles under the hood. I have 33K miles and I own 300C Hemi's all day. I **** all over a V8 Grand Prix the other day. At 3500 lbs, our G is a pig.

MREV probably helps me out, but I hardly even noticed the gains.

well I do use it a lot and it has 2400 miles on it as of now, and I just started fooling around with some friends. and besides that, brake in periods are suggestions.. if you dont follow them then itll effect in gas milage, not destroy the engine.. or atleast thats what im told.

another toolbox. just to clue you in, this isnt 1960 anymore where cars need thousands of miles to break in. ANY current efi car is broken in when you leave the lot as long as it has a mile or 2 on it. nothing you do after that is gonna make or break you. i had my G doing 140mph with 42 miles on it when i got it. it dynod 252whp bone stock with about 4000 miles. if it was complete sh*t i would think it woulda made less power. i also bought a brand new evoi with 6 miles on it back in the end of 04 and beat on that from day one as well. Car actually had a very strong motor and always made good numbers. break it in like your gonna drive it is the best way.

me personally, i'd prob put around 100 miles on an NA car if i was gonna turbocharge it, just cuz its easy to do that in one day for peace of mind, but if i had to turbocharge the car right from the factory, it would be fine. you guys need to calm down on this "break in, keep it under 3k rpms, not more then 50% throttle" BS

wouldnt wanna go up against the SRT-8 though
for some reason ppl in Charger & Magnums always try to race me, I get it from them more than any other car except the Z's

evo9 is sick a guy in NY has evo9 runnning 9 sec 1/4mile, he comes to englishtown sometimes
