Re: recall

I got a recall notice in the mail from Mazda North America for defective fog lights. Nissan/Infinity should send out something if you are affected but I'd still like to see which VIN numbers are affected. If anyone get's the info, please post the link. I hate hearing of a recall on a car i've had for a month and a half and only 1100 miles.

Re: recall

I guess we get to see how the dealers all react to the various mods made by people in this forum: Crawford plenums, intakes, exhausts, etc.

Should be interesting...

Re: recall

I think that must be it. It'll tick 3 to 4 times to start up (sometimes) after it has been started and turned off which I think is pretty abnormal for a brand new car.

Re: recall

Everyone,

Infiniti will either call you or send you a post card (probably the latter). My Maxima had a recall and Nissan sent me a post card. Just sensor, nothing major.

Re: recall

My friend heard about the recall on the news and went to find it on the net. Instead he came across this .. http://www.recalldata.org/2003/43695.shtml Is this something that has been noted before or something else we all need to be concerned about.

Re: recall

doesn't effect 04.
recall posting says manufactured through 5/03, 04's would have been built late june, early july onwards.

also, called dealership, they looked something up, said my 04 is uneffected. mine was part of first 04 production run.

Re: recall

Nissannews.com states the recall only affects cars produced up to July 2002, which is different from the Yahoo article. Base on Nissannews.com info, the G35 Coupe would not be affected under the recall since the coupe was produced starting August of 2002. Right?

Re: recall

I hope the recall is for the 04's too. I have an 04 with only 900 miles on it and have already had a problem starting the car one day. It just kept tryign to start. I had to take the key out, put it back in, and then it started.

Re: recall

JUST got a letter in the mail yesterday. However, it seems like it is for a previous TSB? Here are some parts of the letter:

Reason For Recall
The brake lamp switch in your vehicle may malfunction. If this occurs, the brake lamps will not illuminate when the brake is applied, which could result in a crash without warning.

What Infiniti Will Do
Your Infiniti dealer will replace the brake lamp switch. This free service should take about one hour to complete, but your Inifinti dealer may require your vehicle for a longer period of time based upon their work schedule, or parts availability.

Isn't this problem old news? It just seems weird that I received this letter just now, right after another recall.

On top of that, I just got a letter today from Jim Coleman that states that my car should have approximately 3750 miles on it and that I should go in for my 3750 mile service. WTF?? I got my car in December of 2002, why did I get this letter so late? I have 4700 miles on my car, not 3750. Damn Jim Coleman Infiniti!

Re: recall

Is it true only 18 coupes affected?? Or is that a misprint?
