Well i have my eyes on a set of 19' LMGT-4 rims. They are 19 x 8.5 +25 front and 19 x 9.5 + 30 in the rear.

I currently have the stock 17s on the car and im wondering if this offset is going to be the right setup or not???

If someone will reply telling me if these are the right offsets that would be awesome.

 

with those specs i would definitely get some spacers. but thats jmo. i think that will be way too tucked. im not sure how +25 will look with 8.5

if it was +25 with 9.5 then i would say thats okay..but i think itll looked too tucked with 8.5

 

I dont understand offsets at all so what does +25 on a 8.5 wide wheel mean? What do you mean to tucked?

 

Go to www.rims-n-tires.com and on the bottom right hand corner click on the link "size comparer". You can put your stock wheel and tire specs in the left chart, put your new tire and wheel specs in the right chart and it will give you all the info you will need. Believe me this will help you understand what the specs mean and how it will impact your setup.

It says our cars can hold +20 up to +35 offset. I have no idea about rims at all so i dont know what ANYTHING means when it comes to rims. Is the offet another name for lip....?

If someone will just tell me if these will fit without any problems that would be awesome.

Tucked means the wheel is on the inside of the fender rather than in line with it. Your car will have a wider more aggressive look if it is in line with the fender.

Get them! They will fit fine....and depending on the look you want, you can get spacers or leave the wheels as is.

 

Hey I just ordered a set of Ruff 277's for my '05 sedan. 8.5 - 245/35/19f, 9.5 - 275/30/19r, +35 offset all the way round. Will these be inline with the fenders or tucked? If tucked what size spacers will I need?

 

^^if i were you i would get some spacers. to me, i think coupe offsets should be in the high teens and low twenties

anything higher than +25 imo doesnt look right

edit: i just noticed you have a sedan. i think +35 are good offsets for sedans but im not sure. you might wanna ask the sedan forum

yeh, grant (gdupsedan35) will know for sure. but im pretty sure youll be okay with +35 on your sedan.

 

On my first set of rims they were the same size 8.5/9.5 and they had 20mm offset front and rear. Remember 6mm equals quarter of a inch so we're talking about small increments. The lower numerical number means a 20mm offset will be .25" closer to the fender than a wheel that has an offset of 26mm. The only other consideration is the size tires.......larger tires the more space it takes up.

 

The lower the offset, the center of the rim moves closer to the outside of the car. The higher the offset, the center of the rim moves in towards the car.

The offset also affects the "lip" of the rim - meaning the higher the offset the deeper the rim is and vice versa for a lower offset.

Honestly, 8.5 in the front isn't much different than stock 18s with respect to footprint. If anything, I would suggest at least 9s in the front and 10s in the rear for a coupe. But then again, it's what you're looking for....

 

This is what +25mm front and rear looks like. Fronts are 9" wide with 3.5" lip, rears are 10" wide with 4.75" lip.
