Re: supercharger, need help

Basically true, which voids the powertrain AND drivetrain warranties.

I've been hearing that the Nismo stuff (like the TRD superchargers) won't void the warranty, given if you keep the original setup.

That may be true from Nissan Corp. but each dealer will do what they like. Just like the NONREFUNDABLE Deposits. But will see which dealers deal on the up and up.

Re: supercharger, need help

Alpine already has developed a supercharger for the VQ 3.5L engine and, if what I hear on the net is correct, NISMO is going to adopt that as the "official" supercharger for Nissan/Infiniti. If it is adopted, it should be supported by warranty at dealers who are willing and able to install and support this product.

I don't have a time frame for availability but there is at least one driver who says he has already placed an order for the supercharger with a dealer. The cost is steep according to this G coupe driver - $6 grand!

The supercharger is supposed to add another 60hp to the coupe - that's $100 a pony! Kinda steep if you ask me, but not too surprising when you realize it is a dealer doing this!

6G is too much for a simple bolt-on and maybe ECU upgrade

Re: supercharger, need help

I don't disagree, but this is what another G coupe driver wrote and said he had ordered. Six grand is indeed waaay too much as far as I am concerned. A great forced induction system should be about half that much, maybe a little more if there is ECU modification.

If this is all true, the dealers are probably banking on people paying the premium for an Infiniti warranty and dealer support.
