Re: TRUNK...Help!
Don't forget the valet switch in the glove box guys. The toggle switch is on the left side of the glove box and must be on for the trunk release to work on the dash (next to the VDC button)

Re: TRUNK...Help!
I remember the first time that I checked out a G in the show room... I wanted to check out the trunk, and I swear I poked around the car for ten minutes before I found it, LOL. I figured "this little weird illustrated button can't be it, why would it be by the VDC and dimmer? psh..." Little did I know...

Re: TRUNK...Help!
Well, it does make sense though. Because it's like a random item, lined up with two other random items, VDC and the interior dash/gauge lighting. Seems like a good position. When I got my radar detector installed, the installer relocated my trunk release button...it is now right next to the hood release and is mounted sideways. I was pissed at first, but now it's an even better spot that makes sense...hood release and trunk release both right next to each other. And no, I would never get the two confused.....

Nice, I like that idea. I just came from a line of cars where the trunk relase was on the floor on the left side of the driver's seat. This makes it a lot more convenient to pop the trunk through an open window, though... pretty cool.

Re: TRUNK...Help!
One of the early comparos described the G as a "Japanese Saab" due to the funky control layout. It actually lost points over that. I personally don't see it, but then again I traded in my Saab on the G. Still boggles me how some people get really upset over the location of the seat controls, like it's an affront to God and nature. My only complaint is that the dash controls are set up for a driver seated on the right (i.e. Japanese spec). Saabs have it all driver-oriented.

Yeah, I agree...I don't know why so many people complain about the power seat controls...it's very easy to access and very straight-forward. And I completely agree with you...I don't appreciate how the G is setup for right-handed drivers, either, but the difference is not a big deal.
