^i wish they had that here in MD...

i know if Florida they have ticket lawyers. You pay them and they get the ticket dismissed. No points no need to go to court.

I hate my state sometimes.

Actually, I think they just need to verify your address so they know where to send the ticket in the mail. In CA you're required to attach a piece of paper with your new address if you are not living at the one on your DL. He's just doing his job.

Oh, and sorry about the ticket. Yeah, 13 mph seems small. It's really up to the officer. Too bad you were in a bad mood to start, that might have changed things with your encounter.

Yeah I think questions like that are common. Partly I think they want to see if you're drunk or something, or to give you a chance to act suspicious & justify (in their minds) giving you a hard time. I had a cop let me off with a warning when I was in a rush to the airport once after he asked where I was going and when my flight was.

Think of it as a window of opportunity to get on the fellow's good side, if he has one.
