well there is your problem man you put on audi a8 20 inch wheels that weight like 55 lbs a wheel before tires so you running roughly 300 lbs of unsprung weight lol. A gti with 235 wheel horsepower can def. run a stock g as the g35's seem to put out roughly 235-240 bone stock so i think its quite possible for a good race.

The wheels are 19" Audi A8 aluminum 23lbs each. And I am talking about with those wheels off the car. The VW was mine for 4 years and I know how to drive and I am telling you that it would be close 0-60 but after that the G would win.

first off i dont think those a8 wheels are 23 lbs. and second i had oz superleggera's in 19 inch and also bbs rc wheels in 19 inch size each respectively weigh in at 24 and 22 pounds respectively so how is it an oem wheel weighs in at bbs and oz superlightweights ????? if you can generate a link to back up your wheel claim then id def. retract my accusation so you know im not trying to be a dick about it also a gti vr6 with a vf stage 1 supercharger has 250 whp and 230 tq http://www.vf-engineering.com/
so i doubt a supercharged vr6 would have a hard time keeping up with a g35 coupe stock.

I wouldn't worry about any stock VWs, but 1.8t or 2.0T with a good chip is a totally different ball game. My friend had a 1.8T with a chip and some mods and I wouldn't be so confident going against him. I've been in his car and once that chipped turbo opens up, it makes his car feel like it weighs only 200 pounds. Good launch and superior shifting skills would be a must. Good luck and be safe.

The latest news is I think it is absolutely retarded to argue with someone on this forum about two cars I own and know about.

subscribe.

Curious to see the results. My friend has a 2002 VR6 and thinks it is super fast. I tend to disagree. I had a Jetta, and they feel faster than they are. When I bought the G, I was embarassed that I thought my old Jetta was so fast. Perhaps these newer jettas are way faster.

off topic: I also have much animosity towards that Jetta. The biggest POS hunk of junk I have ever owned. It was in the shop all the time.

Now the R32, I would not be so inclined to race. I have read that a stock 2005 R32 has a 14.3 quarter mile. http://www.ssmoparmuscle.com/speedcomp.htm

update
so no race guys .... aww he took a ride in my g and then had no intrest in a race. So mark one up on the board for my coupe. One more thing I raced a new lotus elise on the highway and lets just say his hot passanger wished she was riding in the coupe instead. Ya those things are not all what I thought.

The Elise should be able to hang with an STI and both would woop on the G all day long. They are both about a second faster in the quarter mile than the G. Perhaps the driver of the Lotus did not know he was racing.

+1

Elises have very narrow powerbands--at the top of the rev range--so I'm thinking the person you raced was simply in the wrong gear.

so... you raced one of the finest race tuned cars in the world (presently) on the highway, and thought his hot passenger wanted to be with you instead of the owner of the lotus elise because...

wait wait wait, I have to stop. The words just won't come out because it sounds too stupid. My "what a load of retarded crap" sensor just went off.
