Oil Consumption?

I just had my oil changed 1500 miles ago. Checked the crazy dipstick and it's about 1/3 down in the acceptable range. Does anyone consider that normal? My car is an 04 coupe with just under 30k. I put in 5 Qts Mobil 1 Supersyn 5w30 and used a K&N oil filter. I'm just wondering if I need to be concerned about this. By the way, does anyobody know how much oil it takes to move between the H and L marks on the dipstick? Any insight would be appreciated. I talked to a service rep at Troncalli Infiniti and he said it's normal for the level to dip at this point.

So you're saying that's somewhat normal? I just want to make sure it's not something I need to be overly concerned about. Thanks.

It's absolutely normal. The top to the bottom of the "normal" range is 1 quart. So, you're saying you drove 1500 miles and used 1/3 of a quart. That's fine.
