Re: oil change estimate

As part of the service I get at Montclair Infiniti, I get $12.99 oil changes and free car washes for life.

Re: oil change estimate

they typical price is $25-$35 depending on dealer. You don't want the dealer car "washes." They do a crappy job and will scratch up your finish.

Actually, the dealer car washes are quite nice. They don't wax, but they come out pretty clean.

I see it this way: Our cars are real live marketing. The better our cars look out on the road, the more heads will turn, the better sales are for Infiniti. Why would they scratch our cars and damage the very product they are trying to sell?

...because the minimum wage, high school dropout, with 3 teeth that gets assigned to the car washes could car less about any of that or your car. Not to mention they have no idea how to properly wash a car. I saw a BRAND NEW black Q45 with swirl marks sitting in the dealership showroom. Care to guess where the swirls came from?

Just telling you what my personal experience has been.

Re: oil change estimate

Last time I brought my car in for an oil-change I declined the car wash, but I watched them wash the other cars. The people washing the cars could care less how they came out because they were doing the most half-*** jobs I had ever seen. Basically just spraying the cars with a hose, then using a soap-soaked sponge to wipe it down real quick, then another quick rinse. Now I know you can't expect too much from a free car-wash, but it just seemed like all they were doing was swirling the dirt around on the paint doing more harm than good.

Re: oil change estimate

i think only black cars should avoid dealer carwash since black shows every single little scratches and swirls.. but any other colors, you wouldn't have to get too much stress about gettig swirls since you won't notice it... white, silver, DG are good example... you can't see any swirls and light scratches... but from my experience, blue is kinda show swirls so becareful on blue owners...

Re: oil change estimate

Oil change: about $40.00 at the dealer (way too much, I think).

Car wash at the dealer: I don't think I'm going to let them do it any more. Water spots everywhere and streaky windows. I brought mine home and immediately washed it again.
