Clear Wheels

http://videos.streetfire.net/recentv...6e003197c3.htm

Car enthusiasts are like kids in a candy shop when they walk into SEMA. It truly is the granddaddy of them all, the absolutely best car show there is. We see some of the craziest innovations there, and today is no different. First, we saw spinners. Then, we saw wheels with LEDs in them. And now, D'Vinci Forgiato has come up with clear wheels. Yes, clear. As in absolutely transparent.

Apparently made of "Lexan or something", they give the appearance that your tire is simply floating around your disc brakes. The reps say that these wheels are just as safe as any other wheel on the market, but I'd imagine it'd be a bit of a pain in the you-know-what to clean out the brake dust. There are also versions available for motorcycles.

You're rolling on dubs? D'Vinci Forgiato is rolling on clear... like deodorant.

How long before we see these on a G35 coupe?

Damn, must be a bitch to keep clean, BUT it's nice to show off your rotors and piston calipers.

Dang.. those clear rims looked good on that mercedes S-class.. but im not sure if it would look nice with the G's.. still like traditional racing style rims like volks better.. plus the weight of those 2in solid glass would out weigh forged rims.. and think about how much longer it would take to clean your car.. especially w/ the g35 brembos..

I was about to say that people who would buy these are probably the rich or for luxury cars where they wouldn't clean the rims themselves. Guess I'm wrong

Yea, right................

These wheels look great on a show car that never
sees the street. Any water you hit on the street will
instantly mess'em up. Being a "cleanfreak" this kinda
wheel would put me on the funny farm............

Yeah you have to have a nice BBK and sweet rotors if you are going to get those.

Those things are sick. They would look hot on a G35. But $2000 per rim is a bit too expensive. On top of that you would definately want to buy serious set of crossed drilled rotors and calipers for show. I'd buy them and clean them every 3 weeks but, I would only use them in the summer time.
