sounds to me like you are going to be struggling just to make the montly and insurance payment, not to count the speeding tickets you are goin to get LOL...but for real, get something you gonna be comfortable maintaining, the G can get pretty expensive to maintain (aligments, fuel, synthetic oil changes ect)...i were you id start off with a mustang GT or something of that sort...not too hard to maintain and will give you the speed you crave IMO

You'll looking at about a $100 a month for each $5,000 you loan, so let's say you buy that beautiful thing for under $25k with taxes, your folks put down 10, and you finance the other $15k, that's about $300 a month. If you said you are working hard, then it should be no problem for you. Just make sure the G35 still has some warranty left that the dealer will confirm. Other than that, you'll be happy with that thing, it is very reliable, and you don't need to worry much about synthetic oil changes and expensive maintenance stuff like others say, they just try to scare you, just do regular, basic stuff you can do yourself, especially with the help you'll find on here. As long as you go by the maintenance manual, you'll be good and the car will be fine. The only thing I would consider are winter tires if you have winter where you live. Other than that, go for it, and don't take the VDC off for a very long time on public streets. Be safe and enjoy.

Bottom Point is, he should start off with something "lower".

I hope this isnt your first car... or else good luck with the bumps, scratches, (accidents?), and tickets.

Are your parents getting or co-signing the loan? At 18, you'll probably get a terrible interest rate because you probably don't have much credit history.

I paid $34,600 for my '03 6MT Coupe (plus misc. charges) and put $6K down. I financed the other ~$30K at 4.74% for 72 mos.

My monthly payment is $442.

I'm buying a 2006 6MT around 42k out the door. With 20k down, payments are a little below 400/month.
