volks :)

i've been looking around about volks, especially the work vsxx and the sf challenge.
i know they cost about $3600-3800 w/ toyo t1rs (sp?), but... if i have an 05 AT coupe w/ sport tuned suspension package(19 inch rims), will i still need a drop after i put on the new wheels?
if so, does lowering the car void the warranty? how do you lower the car? how much will it cost? is it an easy DIY? what should i buy to lower the car?
i think suspension is a topic that i'm utterly defficient in. -___-;

thanks

I just got the vsxx on my car for about 3 weeks now. The same amount of time that I got the H-techs sitting in my living room waiting for me to install em. I say a drop isn't necessary but so are aftermarket wheels. But we still get them anyways. It'll look much better with a drop to clear the fender gap. I was quoted $500 at the dealership to put the springs on, $200 from sharif at forged performance, a playstation 2 from my mechanic friend.

depends what you want to do with your car in terms of lowering it. what i mean is, are you lowering just for show or also track? best way to go is true coilovers, but, its very expensive. you can also do a shock/spring combo, its a little cheaper but you wont be able to adjust your height. installing them are very easy, i did not have alot of experience when i first installed one and i did ok as long as you have the right tools, important thing you need is a spring compressor(sp?) which can be rented for cheap at your local autoparts. i dont know whats the case is at your location, but all i have to do was lend my I.D. and when i returned the compressor and i got my I.D. back. most people lower their car to get rid of the gap and looks a lot better.

it depends on your tastes. i would say you should still drop it. im getting my work vsxx in two weeks

you can get lowering springs but if you have the money then you should invest in some coilovers

keep in mind any drop more than an inch will probably require you to get a camber kit to get back into spec

oh well. i guess it's time to start saving up money then

but still 1 question unanswered: will it void the warranty?

you NEED a drop. believe me!

btw those prices are a tad high, i'd get some more quotes if i were you. try all the vendors on this forum. Most of my friends were getting them for ~3500 with the same tires.
