Need your thoughts: should I go through with this deal?
Need your thoughts: maintenance/warranty issue
Newb could use some help from you vets...
So I have a good price on a used 2004 G35, and everything sounds great -- 22K miles, one owner, driven by middle aged woman, no accidents, clean carfax, etc. Exterior/interior looks really good, test drive was smooth and I can't identify any rattles or obvious trouble spots, though I have to admit no one would ever mistake me for a mechanic.
Today I'm trying to make a service appt at the dealer to have a buyer's inspection before the final purchase, when I find out that the car has had TWO(!!) oil changes over its lifetime, at 7K and 20K miles. Current owner cannot produce any other service receipts. So even the car has been driven softly, sounds fine, and interior/exterior are impeccable, it's unlikely that the car has been properly maintained, let alone the 15K service.
So here's where I need your help:
1. Is it even theoretically possible that the car could still be totally fine with only two oil changes?
2. Should I even bother paying for the $100 inspection, or back out now? If course, if anything comes up during the inspection, I'll back out.
3. If I go pay for the inspection and it comes out looking clean (no damage from prior lack of maintenance), how likely will Infiniti deny any repairs under warranty? I downloaded the warranty from infiniti.com, and the warranty is conditional on regular maintenance. The current owner (a dealer) insists that though this may be the "official" stance, in reality infiniti understands that "no one changes their oil at the dealer" and they will not reject any repairs under warranty.
I realize that there are many G35s out there, but I've spent a long time looking for a car that looks this this. Any thoughts are much appreciated!!!

As a dealer i cn say this Infiniti can not make you go to them for the oil changes that would be against the law.. get the car inspected and see what they come out with if youve been looking for a while and its the color combo you want and the inspection is good then buy the car
how do u know the car only had two oil changes? maybe two at the dealership, but could have had it somewhere else. i dont always take my car to the dealership for oil change, and i never really keep my oil change receipts. however, i take very good care of my car and does my oil change and maintainance regularly.
how much is the car selling for? could be a good deal..just need to have more info!
