I was coming back from seeing Borat(funniest movie this year) and if any of you know the area its south of Chico, CA on 99. I had it in 6th, there were no cars on the road, I was doing about 75. Me and my cousin were laughing are asses off about the movie when I see an oncoming car duck out on the shoulder. I look down at my speed, 85! I hit the breaks, but it was too late. Then I said "Speedin' on the freeway, thats a ticket". Right as I pass him he kicks on his lights and takes me down. 85 in a 65, $200 and eligable for traffic school.

Its easy to get a ticket in this car guys. Set cruise control if you must. Had I been going just a few miles an hour faster, reckless driving.

A side note: All you people in CA. Its kind of important to treat officers with kid gloves, especially at night. Most if not all nighttime CHP units are two officers because of the recent killings of officers, they are on edge. So I pulled out my keys, set them on the dash and told him what I was reaching for before I went for it. I could tell he really appreciated it. I'm sure he could tell I knew there was no way of getting out of the ticket. He chatted with me about borat for a little bit, atleast he didn't give me a speach.

P.S. I've been driving 80+ mph every day for the last 5 years, so if you ask me, its worth it. I think 5 years is a pretty good run.
Best 'I got a ticket' post I think I've ever read.

Agree about the reckless driving. Ours here in WA can be based on speed alone if you're moving fast enough. The poster above who talked about a 'combo' (weaving, lane change, etc) is correct also, but they can wreck your day just for hauling buns if they choose to.

I live on cruise. Period. I'm too drifty to survive otherwise. Look down once, 75. Look down again, 85. Cruise pwns me.

I guess I'm getting too old. I didn't particularly care for Borat. LOL..

I always set my CC at about 8mph over the limit. Haven't been pulled over yet, but I just limo'd my windows, so I now cruise at about 5 over. I hate tickets.

Edit~~ oh yeah, knock on wood!

That doesn't always work... I had my cruise set to 8 over on the 680 in NorCal. I was going like 72-73 in a 65. CHP pulled me over and said he "clocked" me at over 80
