DC5 Owner... G35 Soon..

Hello all, i have paid off my 2006 RSX Type-S for almost 10 months now ( had for a year...), and 8900 miles later I am looking to trade it in for another level up in life.

For the past month I had my mind set on a 350Z, however the insurance on those has changed my mind, no matter how much I love the 350Z, as I am only 18 and the insurance will kill me, since I will be spending 99% on my money paying off the finance.

So I have settled for second best ( second best only becaue its a tad slower, and more expensive ; a 2006 Infiniti G35.

KBB rated my car as 22k trade-in, so I am expecting about 20k for it. I see edmunds have the 06 G35 6MT listed as 31k invoice.

How often do people get the car for invoice? I am not looking for anything, just a 6 sp. with the most basic stuff I find ( I do really love the spoiler though....)

What have you guys been paying? And will december be a good place to grab one? I have my mind set on a Diamond Graphite. thanks for any responses

Quick question:
How much less performance does a G35 have compared to a Z?
I am not going to Autocross it, but I did want to track a little.

I got my base 06 6MT for 34,4 out the door. I took the leasing option. The only thing the Z is better at is in the handling department. They are equal in power. The Z has stiffer springs, stiffer sways, and is lighter. All that aside, you can very well make your G handle as well as the Z, granted you have some dough for the suspension mods. Some stillen sways, tein coilovers, and maybe a GT-Spec brace and you will be outhandling a Z.

If you bargain enough, you can get 1500 below invoice for the 2006's.

i had an 03 type-s. Loved it. You wont miss it much though, as all options in the G is better than the type-s. There are times youd wish you had a Z though, as when im with my girl, i feel a bit more... racey like in a Z. then on the other hand, if u want a little more space, and something a bit like the S, get the G. I chose the G cuz i usually seem to have atleast 2 people in the car. If the Z was a 4 seater, it would have made my choice extremely harder...

i would keep ur rsx-s till the new 08 comes out. u might want those.. why spend the money on an 06 now when the new 08 will come out in less than a year?

if u still want to get a G35 rightnow, i would suggest get a used 05 or something.

I agree, try looking for a used one just in case you see the newer model come out in the near future and fall in love. That way you don't take a big hit if you decide to sell or trade in.

Is something wrong with the 07's?

I could not bargain a lot because I was super picky with what I wanted. And I only got what I wanted after contacting 12 dealerships in 300 mile radius from my zip code. It was all worth it
