I watch rpm's and not speed....When having some fun, i found out that if I hold the shift until after 4k i get a better response. Sometimes I'll push it up tp 6-6.5k before shifting. After a while you wont have to look at gauges, it all comes by feel, just like shifting a manual transmission...As for gas, if you are having fun....who cares at that point.

I personally have come to learn that if you lift your foot just a hair while you shift up into the next gear and stomp back down while its still in the process it revs higher into the next gear... it shifts alot faster... and harder... it takes some getting used to... Might be hard on the tranny but its sure fun when you know what your doing...
