automatic triptronik

hey guys i jus bought a 05 g35 couple white , i was using the triptronik but im not sure if im doing it right. Do i keep my foot on the gas and shift or let go my gas then shift ?

I keep my foot into it. If I am messing around i'll shift between 5-6k. Most of the time I'll keep it in drive

i think i heard somewhere that porsche first called it tiptronic

^ yep, Porsche calls it tiptronic, Honda calls theirs sport-shift, Dodge calls theirs auto-stick......pretty much every car company calls it something

in the M3 it's SMG for Sequential Manual Gearbox.

u have to match ur rpms with ur speed. the higher the rpm the smoother it will shift in tiptronic mode =0)

like i would shift out of first at 4.5 rpms and the shift from 2nd to 3rd gear somewhere around 25-35mph and wont shift out of 3rd until atleast 60-65mph and 4th atleat over 100mph =0)

it def takes getting us to

Yeah if your driving a 6mt but your not its an automatic all the time, tiptronic just gives you control over when you want to shift. You can let off the gas but you don't have to.

SMG is not the same as the manumatic. entirely different kind of gearbox.
