plastic electronic gizmo in trunk
plastic electronic gizmo in trunk
got a question for those of you that have torn apart your trunk:
i stripped my entire trunk clear to install dynamat. after pulling apart all cardboard covers, spare tire, etc, i noticed a small plastic device that has eight wires running into off a a huge wad of split loom coming from the passenger side of the car from behind the cross member that separates the back seat from the trunk. this device was mounted to the cross member on the trunk side. my question is "what is this device for and can i relocate it to another part of the car so it will not be an obstruction to my amplifier install?
thanks for any guidance you can provide.

Re: plastic electronic gizmo in trunk
I could be wrong but I believe I remember another member mentioning that the BOSE Amplifier was in that area of the trunk. Are there any markings or labels indicating so? I wish they had an inexpensive shop manual out for this car. Peace.

Re: plastic electronic gizmo in trunk
went to infiniti dealer today.
that gizmo is an inertia sensor for rear end collisions.
it tells the air bag computer when/which airbags to deploy in the event of an accident. guess i'll be putting it back where it came from.
