Open Exhaust

Has anyone here ever unbolted the muffler itself and heard what the car sounded like? I mean with all the factory cats and resonators still inplace. I wonder how it would sound.

people with the e-cutout might be able to give some feedback on this. I think a couple people just sold theirs recently, so you can ask them or the new owners.

I imagine it probably sounds good for about 25 seconds, right after you put it on... and then it sounds like broken exhaust thereafter.

for the record, i loved the sound. i really miss it. the reason i sold mine is because i'm getting HKS

to get an idea of what it sounds like, search member socalted

he has two ecutouts in his ypipe with two video clips. this will give you a rough idea of how it sounds.

darn it, I was trying to talk myself into thinking it sounded like crap since I couldn't buy yours! why must you make me feel the pain of missed opportunity?!?!

I H8 ohio. nobody here sells any of their parts, so I can only buy stuff when I go on business trips. oh, and I hate the weather. and I hate...

anyways.

to the OP: don't go sawing your muffler off... spend a couple bucks and get an e-cutout welded in place somewhere. If you do it at the right place, you should only need one (like the midpipe, on hero's). At least, I think that is correct.

its LOUD but sounds kind of cool...You lose a crap load of torque though cuz there's no back pressure....

I unbolted mine a few times but it was just open test pipes and it sounds like a NASCAR kind of cool with the supercharger whistle
