Interesting. I wonder if there is something else broken, because the rear wheel tilted severely, appeared to be off axis like this " /" x 2 , but it still remained in wheel well. It is hard to believe that the part holding the wheel in aligment is such a small pipe and only cost 30 dollar.

With a clean break like that it seems someone sabotaged your vehicle. Even if a part like that had the capability to break through normal/abnormal use, it wouldn't break in that fashion.

What I find strange is the discoloration at the break area..As a mechanical designer I find these types of failures interesting. There apears to be no sign of monkey business ..in other word I don't think it was cut. The discoloration at the break area almost looks like heat produced as a result of repeated flexure. Strange that a piece of tubing would break in that manner.Curious to see what Infiniti has to say/does about it.

Isn't there another thread where someone's Kinetix arm broke in the same fashion? I'm pretty sure it was the same component. Could it be a flaw in the suspension design, or a production tolerance issue with the OEM part?

it has happened in people with aftermarket arms, but this is a first for factory. Ive had those arms bent out of shape on my car..but it snapping in half is very rare.

That looks like it was heated before. Notice how it is warped.

Also, who the hell welds these parts. My grandma can lay a better bead than that.

(sorry for weird pic, did screen shot and it picked up both screens.)

But I think MountainPirate is on the money. Must've been a Monday at the plant. Too much sake the night before that weld LOL.
