5AT Manumatic downshifting

I have a 06c 5at as the sig says. Most of the time I use manumatic mode. Alot/some of the time when I start to slow down it will downshift for me. I know that is normal but sometimes it will do it when the car is moving to fast or right before I am going to. If it downshifts too soon somtimes it jerks the car or I will down shift right after it does, making me downshift twice, making the car jerk. My question is: Is there a way to set the RPMs lower so it will not downshift so soon for me? Or a way to fix this.(Ya I know downshifting before the G does would help, but sometimes it shouldnt be yet)

sorry for the long post, thanks in advance

on my 2 yrs of being on these boards i have yet to read anything about changing the programming on the tiptronic. don't think you'll have any luck with that!

I agree as well!

You might want to email technosquare, they might be able to reflash the ECU so it runs how you want. I have no idea though i have never heard of this.

I have the same problem too. I run my car most of the time on manumatic mode as well. Is there any way to override the tiptronic or at least upgrade it?

ya thats kinda what I figured but then I thought...maybe since the ECU learns how you drive within the first couple months it learned that I downshifted too early. Since I was not the best with it the first month or so I may have downshifted too early and the ECU learned it that way thus making it this way now? Anybody?
Thanks,
Cam

it only downshifts to prevent the engine from stalling. mine won't down shift until i am going really slow. keep in mind, if you left it downshift for you it will skip 2nd and go into 1st just as you are stopping.
