Quest: Auto 04 Coupe w/LSD diff ???

If the o4 Auto coupe came with LSD does that mean it has the sport suspension? Of does the LSD not come in the Auto Coupe? I'm just asking to see if the selling is BSing me? Thanks!

if the 04 coupe has LSD, it came with 18 inch wheels on the "Tire & Performance" package. Check to see if it has 18inch wheels.

He said the car did have 18inch rims, he has 19's on there now. ButI don't like the bumpy ride? I just wasnt sure if an Auto did have the option of LSD or not? Thanks for the info? So if it did have 18's then it's the sport springs stock then that he has in the box.

Are there diff between Auto and 6MT suspn bolt patterns and ftmaent?

For the 04' model year, if you have the Performance Tire/Wheel package, you have the same setup, regardless if you are auto or 6MT.

IIRC, the easiest way to tell if you have this package (and dealer didn't just install 18" rims), is to look at your interior. If you have the titanium trim, you have the performance tire/wheel package. I vaguely remember the Perf Wheel/Tire package coming with the titanium interior trim.

You are the one that is mistaken. If you read this detailed list of option packages you'll clearly see that titanium interior trim is only included with the Performance Tire/Wheel package.

And I know for a fact that not all G's have titanium trim, becuase I've gotten loaners without em. When I bought my car, one of the main reasons for getting the tire/wheel package (despite the fact I knew I was going to buy aftermarket rims), was for the LSD and the titanium trim.

dude, whoa...whoa..I have to say i know alot about this car and i dont even know the answer to this question. One of the very few parts of the car im not familiar with is this part. I dont even understand off the top of my head what it is?? is it where both tires will break loose under straight line acceleration or is it like most cars where only the power goes to 1 back wheel???

Eh?
All G's have a "differential", but for 03-04, only those with the Performance Wheel and Tire package had a Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD). All others had an open-differential. For the 05+ model year, only those with the Sport Suspension Package included the VLSD.

If you look at this very detailed sheet from Nissan it clearly shows the G35 Coupe comes with a "Conventional Differential". Then if you scroll towards the bottom on option packages, it shows the Performance Tire and Wheel package, includes VLSD, 18" wheels, and Titanium Interior Trim.

Yes every rear-end car has a differential. As the other individual indicated the base suspension has an open differential (this basically transfers torque). The LSD "Limited Slip Differential" is the one that maintains both wheel spin. There are variants to differentials that have different functions. The drive shaft locks into the differential. Inside the differential is a gearing system that turns the "arms" that lead to the wheels. Rather then attempting to explain it further.

I think everyone here knows what a differential is and how it works my grandfather actually designs them (i guess that means i should know more about them, but i dont). I was just wondering which models came with the vlsd. I guess my 03 coupe did not...grrrr

If you have the titanium colored center dash, you have the LSD.
