any tips on applying bat overlays? is it supposed to be stretchy?

 

use a heat gun to make it stretchy (but dont stretch it too much...)

and are you using the suggested method of soaking it in soap and water first?

Drop it in soapy water and keep a spray bottle with the same mixture in it.Just be patient. and do it in sections...

 

heat gun? do you mean hairdryer? heat gun would totally melt the overlay.

i say heat gun because it sounds cooler than hairdryer

but yes, that's what i used as well. a hairdryer. worked for me.

 

if i do it slow it stretches. and lots of bubbles

 

how am i supposed to get rid of the creases? just blow dry it?

 

oh and where the light is cut in half are you supposed to overlap? or just make them touch eachother

it's just like any other sticker you put on your car man. not really complex lol.

 

lol, not that easy man... The overlay is going on an area where there are multiple curves at differnt angles, which is why you get the creasing. If you've tried to install overlays before, you'd know.


By saying go slow, he meant that you need to take your time and be patient, sometimes they can be a pain in the ***, especially getting it all lined up right. When you're using the heatgun/hairdryer, dont give it too much heat, just give it a few hits of heat and then try to work it where you want it to go, while not stretching it too much. If you cant get it to go how you want, peel it back and give it a light spray with the soap/water solution and try again, eventually you'll get it to go where you want it, just be patient.

you want them to overlap about 1/4"-1/2" so that everything lines up correctly.
