Exclamation Calling all Escort X50 owners

I hardwired my radar detector, for some reason the plug isn't reading it in the X50. Where the phone jack is, to the right theres that small hole, that's what I'm using my hardwire as.

I used my old radar and it's working fine.

I then read on the detector, negative ground only, so do I gotta find a different ground, obviously the one it's on right now isn't negative.

I don't have any way of checking to see whats negative and positive.

Any suggestions, somewere near the drivers side.

search for what you're looking for, you'll find detailed instructions with pics (or at least a link to it)

i hardwired mine to the interior fuse box which is behind the panel door located to the left of your dead pedal.

the ground wire (which should have a circular donut-like ending) is grounded to a screw-like metal thingy (i think) on the topside of the dead pedal. it's covered by a black pastic cover thingy.

i'm sure all these sophisticated technical descriptions have you got confused now (hahaha)

good luck.

That is not a power jack; it is a earphone jack. To hardwire, you need to plug power into the the rj11 jack (phone jack).
