New to Infiniti - 2008 G35x. What should I watch out for in terms of repairs ?

Hi all !

I just got a used 2008 G35x as my daily driver. The car is in good condition for a Minnesota vehicle, and has ~ 98K miles. I trawled this forum extensively before making the decision to buy (owned a 2009 Subaru Impreza before) and I would like to thank everyone in this forum for all their detailed answers.

I would like to keep the car for another 60K miles (4 - 5 years) and wish to know from current owners how to maintain the car. Particularly useful information would be about driveline parts that start going out after 100K miles. Any recommendations for a good Infiniti mechanic in the Twin Cities area is most welcome !

Thanks !!

Wheel bearings

I also live in Minnesota and bought my car with about 100,000 miles. Only problem I have encountered is my front wheel bearings, drivers side went out at 106,000 and passenger just went out at 108,500. I think all the chemicals they put onto our roads up north eat away the bearing seals and rots them out. You'll notice a really loud humming/grinding noise almost as if you're driving a huge truck with really knobby tires. Whole Timken hub assembly is like $75.00 on amazon and is relatively simple to fix. Don't let a shop charge you $350.00 a side to do it. Enjoy your new G!
