Just to address all of your comments..... I may, and you guys may know how to H&T correctly, but many don't. H&T can be bad if you are consistently downshifting poorly. H&T hurts the engine more then it does the tranny. I just didn't want a bunch of these 16-18 year old children who are fortunate enough to have a G at such a young age to not fuc (yes I know how to spell the F word) around and ruine their cars after getting pumped up by a little Initial D lol. That's all.

I can't do it smoothly at all in this car. Poor pedal placement & pedals themselves...

i downshift & rev-match but sometimes it seems more convenient to learn h&t.

Actually.. not only is heel/toe used to enable the vehicle to enter and exit a corner, maintaining rpm's so power isn't sufficed.. but why else wouldn't you just throw it into gear when downshifting?

If done correctly.. and I'm assuming that you do, and I'm also assuming that you know what the pros/cons are then you should know that it's not "really bad" for your tranny.

Heel/toe done correctly should not be bad for your tranny. The clutch?.. well.. technically you're going to be using the clutch more, so you're negating the longevity of your clutch's life span. But if you're doing it correctly.. then there should be nothing wrong with using it in day to day traffic. If you were talking about the clutch.. then yea, it's not the greatest intervention for it. If you were talking about anything else about the tranny.. then you're wrong.

When done correctly.. your synchro's are aligned in sync, no harm done to the tranny. RPMs are matched, so no harm is done to the motor. I would rather H/T then downshift by forcing into gear. By doing so, you put more wear and tear to the synchros. And what happens when you got bad synchros? You can't get into gear. So I H/T.. and rev match, for the sake of my synchros.

Plus.. I've been doing it correctly since I was 17.. so the remark about the 16-18 year olds (although geared towards G35 owners) is quite ignorant. I find it funny as well that you mentioned Initial D? Is that where you found Heel/Toe about?

maybe if you HEEL and toe wrong, yes it will screw up the tranny. But heel and toe itself is to preserve momentum and indrectly save the tranny from extra stress of down shift.

well if the rpms don't match properly, then only the synchros do the job. Correct me if I'm wrong but just my 2 cents.
