1) Is it worth to have a shorter shifter?
2) Any recommendation on brand and place to buy?
3) Can it be a self-installation?

I feel a little bit hard when shifting between my gears. Is it suppose to be like that? Any way to make it a SMOOTH shift?

Thanks for any comments!

^ +1. How come no one has the stillen short shifter. Ive always been curious about that. Is it the price?

The rouge engineering short shifter looks really good but it keeps the same stock shaft height. Id rather have it a bit shorter.

Every car Ive driven that had a short shifter required just a bit more effort in rowing thru gears. by no means is it a bad feeling though.

1) Does B&M is a good brand to go for?
2) Where is R.E.?

when moving between gears, i need a little force to move it; and there's a gap (stop) at neutral. It's not suppose to be hard isn't it? I drove stick before and it's smooth as hell even though that's an Accord w/ out the short shifter. Thanks alot!

I've drive both the Acura and Honda manual transmissions and both are effortless...smooth nonetheless, that it almost didn't feel like I was driving stick. Our G's ask for a bit more attention when shifting, I don't mind it, it gives me reason to learn to make it smooth. It's just the way our G's are designed...I don't think it's bad, but it could always be better...

I've driven both B&M and I currently have the Rogue Engineering on my car. B&M is shorter.. has a more notchy and solid, mechanic feel. The Rogue is smoother, not as short, but a great height, and is solid as well. However, the Rogue is easier as far as guiding into gears. It is precision, and I like it better than the B&M. I love the feel of the B&M.. but it's a little harder to guide into gears... tight fit.

Rouge Engineering is really good. I just brought one for my car not to long ago and it is a pretty much DIY install. What year is your car? All you need is a a 10mm and 12mm socket and a wrench. It should take you about 20 minutes tops to install. Check out rogueengineering.com and you can purchase it there.

I drive with a RE Short Shifter and this is quite possibly my favorite best bang for buck mod ive done to my car! Its one of the little things that make everyday driving and even racing a completely different game! Now add that with a shift **** from a mazda miata and you will have the sickest short throw on a G. Trust me on this one

It's the same height as stock, but the throw is (i think 20%) shorter.
Their web site has the specs.
