hey guys i just got my hood painted..today..i am driving to canada on monday...how long do i have to wait before i can wash it and/or wax it? also i plan on using blue painters tape to mask off the front so i dont get dead bugs etc...should i use the tape or not?is it too early?do i need to let the clearcoat set for a few days?what is my wait period?

I would wait, tape is a good idea though.

 

the paint takes like 24 hours to cure, if it was painted in a spray booth., you should be ok.

 

you should be good to go with washing... i was told to wait 90 days to wax after i got mine back...

 

depends on what type of paint used bc/cc..urathane.a/e w/catalist ...most new bc/cc paints are dry in hours but i would wait on waxing and tape at least 4 days....always depends on your temps in ur area ....

 

it should be able to be washed when u get it back my friends shop washes everything before they give em back so u should be good to go
