You didn't read my post clearly. I said the new Z4 "COUPE" felt claustrophobic. And of course a Roadster isn't going to be claustrophobic as the sky is the limit with headroom.

 

from what i read in reviews they are saying BMW is downplaying the HP which is common for them, saying 335 has 300hp but when tested ...the 335Ci & the current M3 are running kind of neck & neck the M3 is like .4 sec faster or something like that, it will not smoke it!!! ...it will be a drivers race

on another note ...the new M3 coming out next fall will be 400hp v8 engine which means new M3= fu<kin sick!!! next to Audi RS4

 

not .4 seconds faster, its .1 second faster 0-60 and .2 seconds on the 1/4, from a 30mph roll the M3 has no chance. So yes, the 335i is NEAR M3 Performance for much less, a stock M3 will not "smoke" a 335i it will be neck in neck, just edging it by a bit if drivers are equal.

 

I think Infiniti will step it up ...cuz @ $70k-$80k the Nissan GTR is comin out next fall with around 450hp on a 3.8TT V6

no one has said anything but I'll assume the new '08 G might get that same 3.8 engine without the TT what u guys think? taking off the TT would mean what 325-350hp? hhmmmm?

Nissan/Infiniti is known using the same engines in all its cars (tuned differently of course) thats how they keep prices down 2.5, 3.5 & 4.5 ...3.8 next?

 

The GTR is a Nissan... so technically Nissan is stepping it up, not Infiniti.

I REALLY hope your right about the next G coupe being a 3.8 Liter. Not only does it make sense, it makes will make me happy

well i was trying to say since nissan is stepping it up with the 3.8TT v6 that gives us hope that Infiniti will follow with the same engine 3.8 engine but N/A instead of TT ....crossing fingers ...if so i may go with the new '08 G over buying a used 645 ...im selling my 04 G right b4 the '08 drops & the value of 03-06 G's plummets

maybe it will be G37 but have the 3.8 I cant see nissan/infiniti making a 3.7 & a 3.8 engine ...wasted resources for .1 of a liter

bmw under rated the 335i so it doesnt step foot on the E46 M3 (which is in it's last year anyways..). whoever said E46 M3 will "smoke" a 335i. um.. get real man! maybe u need to learn more about the FACTS before making comments like that.
E46 M3 will edge the 335i very so slightly..from a dig, its a driver's race with slight edge goes to M3. but from a roll.. 335i will actually win.. why? cuz its acutally putting out more TQ!!
dont take my words for it, go read some mags/forums, or go test drive both cars.
i think 335i is worth the money compare to E46 M3. sure it's more expensive than our Gs, but if u compare it to M3, its an awsome deal! u get almost same performance for alot less (oh and newer technology, altho i dont think it looks anywhere as good as the E46 M3).

i really doubt the new coupe will be at 335i performance level. it should be alot closer than our 1st gen Gs.. but more likely than not, it's gonna be pretty much the same everything as the 07 sedan. same engine/hp, same interior, and so on..
i do WISH that it comes with MORE hp and more everything..since im planning to upgrade to an 08 or 09 coupe, but the "reality" is telling me that it will likely get the 306hp engine from the sedan, which is nice.. but not nearly enough to edge out 335i

 

actually, i take the comment of M3 edging out 335i back. in a straight line (from dig or rollin), it will be driver's race and it's very likely that a 335i can beat out an M3. various sites and mags that i have seen, they are both putting out mid to low 13 sec 1/4. now, thats FAST!! (on the track, i prob put my money on the M3 tho since it's purposely tuned for track use compare to 335i, altho it's no slouch with its own handling) it will be pretty hard for Infiniti to beat that even with the new G coupe. i can only HOPE that the new coupe will come close.. we'll c i guess!

 

2 things:

Went to Infiniti dealship today, and 07 couples have pricetag of 41+K...so yea, just few K from BMW 335.

For same money as new 335 you can find 2 year old M3. I neard read up on BMWs or anything, but I'm sure M3 was designed as a race car while 335 is made more of the 'casual drive' vehicle

 

I actually think the 08 Coupe will get more power. Remember, when first released the first G35 Sedan had 265, and the coupe had 280? The coupe may probably get 320-325 since the sedan has 306hp now.

Pricetag of 41k FULLY LOADED vs a BASE 335i... how do you compare the two?

FULLY LOADED 335i will be 49k+, thats about 8-10k more than you pay for the G. For most thats not "a few K's"
