any way like stated be4, dont get either models now. Both cars will have different body styles in a year. but if you have to get one now, go with the m3. Not cause its faster or in a higher class or w.e. but because it was your 1st love......but the g will always win the beauty contest with her curves

let me help you out here guy;
i have a 05 coupe and my nephew has an 06 m3 new. if your gonna drive this car around every day you have to consider some things. for example ride quality, gas $, maintience costs, etc etc.
if the quicker car steals your heart then m3 is obvious. if your gonna buy a g35 and put all that money into it to "beat" an m3 you may aswell drop all the low expectations on maintience because if something blows its coming out of your wallet. ride quality wise, the m3 is substantially stiffer than the g which may get annoying quickly. the m3 has no crazy options like self parking or hover jets to really sway someone on that category either. everything in the m3 is pretty much available on the infiniti.
also the vq engine is undoubtly one of the best if not the best v6 motor available to the public to purchase. it will do far more than you probably are expecting from it so dont get the comparison of a ferrari vs. a mustang. m3's are fast and quick, but they're not THAT fast. so i think on a better note you should pick from your own sense of style, performance, and investments. not just speed or raw ability.

So the real question should be should I buy an '01 M3 with over 50K miles and no warranty or a brand new fully optioned '07 G35 coupe with a full warranty? The reaon I phrase the question this way is because both of these cars would cost just about the same.

I only got the G35 cause I needed a car for college, which implicated that it be reliable and lease'able (I know, not a word lol).
As soon as I'm out of college I'l probably pick up a NSX as a weekend car, and get an old accord for a daily driver.

Must be nice to have rich daddy pay for everything.
