Elastic string under driver side door

I discovered these elastic strings (2 strings) hanging off the bottom of my driver side door. They appear to be one string that broke in 2 segments and hung off the bottom of the door. Has anyone seen something like this? I'll have it looked at next week while my car goes to the dealership for a new console (mine came with a scratch on the cupholder cover), but it seem strange to have something from the inside of the door (I think) haning out like that.

I think that's the G String. Seriously, not sure what you mean. I'll take a look at mine and let you know if I see something.

i have the same thing on mine. when i put my tweeters in i looked at it and basicaly it serves no funtion. it just is tied bewteen to of the little botton things that hod the door panel on. I just cut the excess off the bottom so it would hand down and more. dont worry about it.

Re: Elastic string under driver side door

I haven't seen this, but my damn drivers side door is rattling when I play heavy bass music. It's the plastic piece that forms the storage in the drivers side door. All I need to do is place a finger on it and it stops rattling while I play music....damn annoying!

Anyway, the strings must be there for a reason...

That reason could be to hold something in place during assembly at the factory, and they just don't bother to remove them. Who knows?
