for those of you with 20" rims - help

im thinking into getting 20" rims, i dont want wheel rubbing problems but i dont want tires that fit ugly in these rims ( rim wider than tire ) Im planning 10.5" in the rears so the tire is going to be 295. In this combination in worry about tires rubbing the fenders cause by Offset problems. I dont like 19" rims because i think that for a few more bugs you get 20" and that size of wheels are really notice against 18" stock wheels, and its better with greedy sideskirts and Kuruma bumper for clearing the floor and also the gap between the tires and whole fenders. I have Tokico D-spec with 350z Teins S spring, I know i will have to change the springs to rise the car a little more, maybe 350z Tein H. Btw my ride is a G35 2003 6 MT. Any suggestions in correct wheel offset fot these combination, springs and height issues, photos and tires will be apreciated. Photos photos phots!!!!!! tkx.

You should be fine but might rub in the rear when you take corners. should be find though, if you do you can just shave off a few on the rear fenders.

wheel + offset

Here is what I got.
20X8.5 offset = 20
255/35/20
lower on coilover about close to 2"
do rubbed on fender a little on hard turn or bump
solution: raise it 1/4" or +25 offset or go with 245 tires

20X10 offset = 35
285/30/20
lower on coilover about close to 2"
no rubbing but could use more lower offset due to there is some gap from tire to fender.
solution: wheel spacer = 20-25mm or get rim with 20 to 25mm offset. or go with a wider tire like 295-325 depend on your offset and rim width.

I could go much more lower like 3" but the front setup I have right now stop me from going any lower than 2"

Hope this help.

20's will do it right. You won't have any rubbing issues with the Tein springs at all. It will flow perfect with the car.

I'm running 20x9/20x10 right now with 255/30/20 & 285/30/20 tires. Very very close, but no rubbing yet. I'm slammed on Z Hotchkis springs, so I might roll the rear fenders just to be safe.

Wasn't there another guy(jeff92se?) who was looking for someone to roll their fenders also? we should rent one and have a fender rolling day in seattle once the weather gets nicer

thz, i think you answer my question very well. I like 20" x 10.5" ( 295 tire ) Right now i have a widened rear stock 18'" rim to 10.5" with 295/35/18 tire and 25" H&R spacers and it fits flawless with no rubbing ( Teins S for 350 with Dspec ) the car looks awesone because the tires are flush with the outside of the fender.

Did you have any photos of the your wheels, I try to post my photos but something happend that i can do it.
