You can also try getting a hella horn. I had one of these in my Acura Integra GS-R before. Sounds like a Ferrari horn. Good luck, if you ever want to hear my horn or see my set up (since you also live in socal), just pm..........

I like the sound of my Z horns but they are not quite as loud as the stock ones. I was going to try and run them together and add a relay with new power wire for the extra current draw. That may help.

I still don't understand why you would post about your horn upgrade, but then scoff at the idea of a sound clip. What, you think we want to see pics?

Was that to me?

I will be back at home on Monday and would be happy to post a sound clip. Sorry, I went over all the replies quickly and missed that one.

It is a compact air horn, with the twin horns attached directly to the compressor. Very popular with the motorcycle crowd.

Online retailer Twisted Throttle and various eBay merchants stock it.

It's very compact and fits easily behind the grill. I wish I bought two!

I had a local stereo shop install it for ~$30.

A comparison between a stock horn and the Stebel Nautilus Compact can be found here:

I'm very pleased and use it almost everyday!
I'm so buying that horn Is that horn one piece, or is there a separate compressor? That link says it's only $35... That's it? Seems so much more economical than the $325 train horn...

Where'd you mount it? You have pics of the install?

LOL! Sorry... didn't mean to call you out... i just think those hornblaster horns are a little overkill... but since you're offering, i'd definately want to check out your setup in person sometime! Whereabouts in LA are you? I'm in Pico Rivera/Montebello area.

In Miami, Fl i think its very important to have a very loud horn, since there are idiots that think they are the only car out on the road and merge and cut off people as they please, i think i might upgrade this piece of hardware in my G...Thanks for the link...

Yes, the unit is one piece.

I had the OEM horns removed and placed the Stebel Nautilus Compact air horn approximately in the same place.

Sorry, no pics but it is pretty apparent where it should be placed with the included hardware.

Have a blast installing it!

That sound clip sounds good but that was not the oem G horn. That is about what my Z horns sound like but that one sounds louder. Is it louder than the oem G horn? For that price, I may add it in along with the Z horns.

Yes, much louder than the OEM horns.

Sorry, I don't have a comparison between the two. You'll have to trust me that it's much better.

My stock alarm no longer beeps to indicate it is armed, however, the parking lights still blink.

When the alarm is triggered all hell breaks loose!

To disable to honk/confirm when you arm... I forget... Do you need a Consult-II to do that, or can you do that yourself?

But yeah, I want the car to be as noticeable as possible if the alarm is actually triggered. Similar to how I had several strobe lights mounted to the alarm system of my house....
