G35C with new winter tires

I thought I'd share some pics of my winter tire set-up. I spent a lot of time debating between several rims but I finally decided on these. They are CSA Gladiators, and my tires are Pirelli 210s - 235-17 on the rear and 225-17 on the front. I paid $1998 CAD including taxes and shipping from Talon Tire in Quebec. They are amazing people, they know their stuff and they treat you right.

The first pic was right after I had them installed (clean). The second was a closer shot, but I didn't really feel like washing them. Its -12 outside !

6MT or auto? How do the tires work in the snow?

I have a 6MT, the SnoSport 210s are amazing in snow and ice while giving the good performance on dry pavement. The car was undriveable in snow with the Pilot Sports.

Re: G35C with new winter tires

Do you know if most 17" wheels would work on the 6MT? Thanks.

Re: G35C with new winter tires

Actually there are only a few 17" rims that will fit over the Brembo brakes on the 6MT. A few that come to mind are: CSA Gladiators, Mille Miglia Evo5 (Very similar to CSA Gladiators), Mille Miglia HT3, ASA KA3, and Sport Edition Fox 5.

Re: G35C with new winter tires

I am in Toronto and I'm truly getting my money's worth out of these snow tires. Somehow I think that there is still a pile of snow yet to come this winter !

There's gotta be more to come. At least we're prepared. So you live in TO and bought your tires and wheels in Quebec. I should have read a little closer. They look nice, similar to my Sedan's 17's.
My Enkei CDR9's with Yokahamas on my Coupe are ok, too.

Re: G35C with new winter tires

Talon Tire in Quebec was much cheaper than any of the TO dealers that I called. Plus, you save the PST !

Your Enkei rims look awesome. I considered those as well, but thought they were too nice to be used as a winter wheel. I wanted something very basic and cheap !
