Yup.... the heat from the exhaust causes them to die early... For a better solution ive seen people hook up a ccfl tube back there. Same effect as the LEDs but lasts longer

Wait until you do the parking light in the front lamps. It took me 4 hours to disassemble my whole bumper, the headlight module out of the car to get that little side marker strip.

how long for yours to die in the back? I've had two in the license plate area for about 4 months now...no problems

ive had my license plate one on for like 3 weeks now and no problem. The weather is pretty cold now, so i dont think the exhaust heat is going to be a problem

Mine lasted probably 3 or 4 weeks till the start to strobe Now that I have the supercharger installed I noticed that my exhaust gas is a little hotter (i think) I love the look of the LEDs but im just too lazy to change them out

are you talking about the clearance strip? if so your doing it the wrong way... the easiest way is to go through fender lining takes me about 10 mins to change one side...
