i had an 01 GTI with an upgraded waste gate, exhaust, intake, boost controller, and front mount innercooler and still the best time i got at a track was 14.1 @ 101mph its an alright time, but its what a good driver behind a G can do... i think the G can take a stock passat.

Bump! Whats up man i live in Manchvagas!

Anyway.... I as well had a MK4 GTi VR6. I had a VF S/C Stage 1 on my 12V VR6 and it is a close run WITH THE S/C!!! So stock for stock the G will embarrass a VR6 an look sexy doing it! But a turboed VR6 is nothing to fukc with!!!

Word… Mary X_Mas! Bloody Mary time

Ok now he is claiming that he totally spanked one this weekend. I told him that the guy in the G probably wasnt even trying. What do you guys think?

HaHa No! The VR6 sounds faster then it is. Mine sounded sick and was fast but NOT as fast as a G. Just take him for a spin sometime.....

Stock Passat VR6, no way in hell, not even an MT. I used to kill them all the time in my '01 AE Maxima, and my G is way faster than my Max was.

I ran a

15.6 in a 96 VR6 passat Filter/chip/exhaust
15.8 in a 02 1.8t passat chip/exhaust/suspension

When he says "keep up" i think he means on the highway or roll.

the passats are fast once moving but cant be kicked off the start

No way, I used to own a 1999 Passat VR6 (B5) and it's an awesome sedan at high speeds, very stable and comfortable.

Better ask your friend to define what "keeping up" means. Maybe if you're both doing 230 km/h...

As long as we're on that topic. My friend has an 04 VW R32. I have an 03.5 5AT G35 Sedan with z-tube, 3/8" MD spacer, coupe mid and we "ran" several times. I always ran him manu mode and I can edge him out. For some reason, when running with him I always forget to shift nicely and I hit the limiter and lose some speed. He can hang right next to me though but I will eventually (~70mph+) edge him out. We've never run from a stop though, always from rolls. I have a feeling I could take him very nicely in a highway run with my 4th gear.

Another time I ran a New Model 3.5V6 Passat (280hp) on a deserted highway at night. He was by himself, as I could still see into his car as we was next to me. I was with alot of luggage..like 300lbs worth & I had some crappy Avon M550 a/s (naturally unbalanced) and a worn out compression rod! We were going say 70mph and then we nail it. I kept it in 4th as that the really good pulling gear for highway runs and we would literally be even but once I got to around 90 I would start to really take strides on him. It sounds all to fake but I'm very much not the type who's gonna make up stuff.

I don't condone this driving behavior folks. It was done in a safe environment.

My buddy has a 2001 Golf GTI VR6 and we race every chance we get. He can never keep up with me, you should race him and put him in his place.
