The Altima is not faster than a G35... end of story

"Feels" and "Is" are two completely different things.

Ive driven my friends 3.5 Altima S.E and, I just cant see how you think it's as fast as the G35

.

Was visiting the family out in Vegas this Christmas. Got a chance to drive my brother's one-month-old '06 Altima 6MT. Gotta say it's pretty quick. Handling is horribly squishy. Felt like I was driving an 18-wheeler because the shifter is really tall. It's FWD and doesn't have very much torque. It's rated at 270hp. Not nearly as fun to drive as a G but quick and exceptionally smooth shifting. Unfortunately we weren't able to race.

It's probably just cuz of FWD and suspension. I get that same feeling when I drive my wifes '01 Acura CL (non Type S), it just feels eager.

That said, don't think cuz ur in a G that the guy next to you in his Altimas 3.5 at a light can't give you a challenge. They're close enough in performance to make it a driver's race. I've beaten plenty of undeserving Z owners just because of better shifting and I know the Z is faster.

So if the new altima motor has 270 HP under the new HP rating then chances are its going to be faster then a 03-04 G's and might even be quicker than the revup motors due to the new/old rating system?

To be honest i always thought the old Vq's in the G and Z were somewhat overrated form the factory in terms of HP figures... ive seen too many dynos' to prove that theory...heres what i would do.

Go find and friend that you trust..I mean a real friend not a "hommie or "dawg" and grab your moms Altima. Have your friend drive the g and you drive the altima and i bet the Altima will beat the G by at least half of a car.
SO you think Altimas are not OVERATED????
