May have to sell G

May have to sell G
For financial reasons, I may have to see my G35 coupe. What could I realistically sell it for? I bought it in mid-July. I have ~4,400 miles. Brilliant Silver, Graphite, AT, Performance, Premium, SG, perfect condition. I'd rather not go the dealer trade-in route but sell it on my own. What type of hit would I be taking at this point? I looked at Kelly Blue Book and it says approximately $34k. I was hoping it would be a little higher because it cost me more total bottom line.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

IMHO if you could get someone to pay you $34k for it you would be making out pretty well. Everyone knows that as soon as you drive the car off the lot it goes from "new car" status to "used car" status and loses value instantly. Don't expect to recover sales tax paid, destination paid, etc. Your location would also make a small difference on price depending on where you are selling it (1-2%). You might even try taking her to CarMax and seeing what they would offer, you might be surprised.
Good luck and sorry to hear you have to get rid of your baby

Re: May have to sell G
Sorry to hear that as well.
I agree completely with BeerViper. If you got $34K for it you would be making a used car steal, so run away fast.
The thing to remember is that the person buying it will still have to pay for tax, tags, and title etc. So from sticker price on down you might be saving them what about $1000 total?
So in someones mind, buying a new G, they could get the same car new for about the exact same cost...
Something you have to remember is that there is a difference between interest rates for a new car and a used car. Like maybe 5% for new and 6% for used. Without actually doing the math, that alone would make it smarter to just buy a brandnew one.
Sorry for the bad news.

Re: May have to sell G
I hate to be the bearer of reality, but if you're able to sell it for $32000 you will have made out extremely well.
Take a look at thi s car for sale on eBay. It's a 6MT coupe with Premium, Nav, and Aero (and of course the performance wheels w/ Brembos) and 10000 miles. The guy couldn't get anyone to bid even $30000 for it and his Buy It Now price was $32500. Ouch!

eBay is not a good place to sell your car. Everybody on eBay wants something for nothing. I would only sell your car on eBay if it is in very bad used condition. Try selling your car on autotrader.com, that site usually works very well.
Good luck, and sorry to hear the bad news.

Re: May have to sell G
that's unfortunate.
You might want to compare with other cars in the "Autos for sale" section of this website.
This may be a gamble for you to consider, but if you can 'upgrade' the car somehow to make it unique, and you can afford to be patient, you might be able to get a little more for it.

Re: May have to sell G
Also, the $34K you got from KBB is retail price. The wholesale price will be considerably (probably several $1K's) lower. The wholesale price is what a used car dealer would give you on a trade-in. Selling the car directly person-to-person, the reasonable price will be somewhere in between (unless you find a real sucker). Except under a very special situation, a private buyer will not be willing to pay you near as much as they would to a used car dealership.
