I was quoted $900 for parts and labor to install a clifford remote start with the safety feature so that the car won't start in gear. Seems kind of high, does anyone have remote starters installed on their manual G35s? The guy said that there are discounts for autos, but its a bit more work for manual tranny cars.

 

depends on what modules you are having installed along with the remote start...those modules are like 30 bucks a piece plus the labor...i have the avantgard system and it ran me almost 700 with remote start, windows up/down, sunroof, trunk,

i have one on my integra with no safety feature.... a car wash guy had the keys in his pocket... while he was detailing another car, the start button was pressed.... some *** left my car in gear (reverse) and it ran right into a pole... lucky no one was in the way or else I would have been sued a couple MILL..... What do you guys what to pay 900>1,000,000

 

what a trip. dont get it. not worth it.

 

buy the kit and do it yourself, should be 300 bucks total for everything... easy too

i still dont trust those remote starters on a Mt but thats Just IMO

 

i had it on my 240 (remote start, pup out door, unlock/lock windows down and up remote light on [ headlight, hazard]...

 

I know $900 is a bit much, however I hate sitting in a cold *** car during the NE winter (granted we haven't see any snow in NY!). Thanks for the info.
