More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

I would not change a thing to the stock exhaush because yesterday as my brother borrow my car and pull away from the curb, I could of swore that our car has a V12 in it. The growl was amazing and deep. I would have pay top dollar for our stock exhaust if it didn't already come standard.

Re: More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

Agree that the stock exhaust sounds awesome, but have any of you guys heard any aftermarket exhausts? Just imagine the sound of stock exhaust, but even better, not just louder. I have the Fujitsubo Y-pipe and cat back exhaust and this sounds the same at idle, only lower and more rumbly. Step on the gas and the sound is incredible. I did have a good look at the stock exhaust after it was removed from my car and it is heavy and looks like a POS. The quality of aftermarket exhaust is much better. If you want to do any mods on your vehicle, would definitely recommend an aftermarket exhaust.

If you want to hear that note in an AT, just use the manual mode and hold the lower gears longer. The AT likes to upshift early to conserve fuel if left to it's own whims.

True, true, BW6MTC. Going through an underpass is great, but I love going to work and parking in the garage. In fact, rather than parking on the first floor, I usually go through a few floors before deciding on parking my ride. Gotta love that exhaust note!

I love the stock exhaust note too... That's one of the reasons why I bought the G. Just can't resist the sound when one drove by. I even made a clip when going up hill in my apartment parking lot...u can really hear the growl!!!

Re: More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

The stock exhaust is way cool, and was a big factor in my purchasing the Coupe.
As good as it is, I'm even happier with the Borla sound. Just a little louder, deeper and more resonant than stock.

Re: More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

As a coupe owner, you really have to hear the exhaust sound from outside your car. It makes you appreciate it even more when your driving. Get your better half or a friend to do a few "drive buy's" at 3000-4000 rpm's. My wife does this for me with every new car I get. So far the G35c is the best "stock" sound I've heard.

Re: More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

I agree, the stock exhaust is very good, but I had a friend wo a few full throttle runs and another person in their shop asked who was messing around in the back lot with a Porsche 911. I then realized at high revs, it does sound just like a 996 911, same sweet resonant growl. I have test pipes, Borla and Injen. It really does sound amazing from outside the car. Of course, in the car, it sounds deep at low revs and just smooth and wonderful higher up. Try it if you have the same combo, you'll like it!

The RX has left the building, I have been driving the G for about 6 weeks!!!!

Re: More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

Just a question pertaining to the exhaust note.

The 350z has a similar note if I'm not mistaken. Does it sound less deep than our Gcoupes? To me it does.

Re: More than happy with the stock exhaust note.

Stock is nice. Actually, it is one of the best OEM exhaust notes that I have heard. But......... the Borla is better in my opinion. I would never go back to stock.
