Brembo Brake Job
Brembo Brake Job
Bought Hawk HPS pads F & R for 04 coupe with brembos.
Question is, what do I do about the rotors. I see some say they should be resurfaced, other say that Brembo rotors are never to be resurfaced.
Normally I wouldnt resurface the rotors, however, I noticed some "heat" marks on the front left rotor, all the other rotors look perfectly normal though, and car breaks great, no vibration so they are not warped.
Will light sanding return rotor to normal, or is it imperative to cut the rotors.
Or do I just leave it ?

Hurm...
How much are the brembo rotors for this car? Unfortunately, they will be coslty and is the correct way is to replace the rotors to do the brakes on this car (any car really).
I am sure you could find a shop to cut them, but the cutting reduces mass and perhaps the integrity of this rotor, if it wasn't designed for this. Check the FSM for this. If that says the rotors can be turned, then you can do that.

Don't sand them, they either have to be cut a few thousandths or replaced. Hotspots like you describe will hurt that rotor's effectiveness at displacing heat and grabbing the pad, so not a great idea to leave alone.
According to the FSM, "If thickness is outside the standard, replace disc rotor." There is no mention of resurfacing the rotors. That, and according to their specs, only .062" can be worn/milled off.
