I keep hearing a whistling under my hood when I get into the high RPM range. Is that my air intake?

Re-seat your air filter (replace it if it looks dirty when you are in there) I had that happen as well and it sounded like air was seeping through the case where it sandwiches the filter or something. Either way, after checking mine, the sound went away. Mine was a fairly faint sound, but never-the-less loud enough for me to notice while driving.

Having a K&N Air filter woudl give you the same sort of sound.

having a whistle come from a stock g doesnt sound right. check the intake the car has on it now and see if everything should be as is..in other words check to see if maybe something isnt put in correctly.
id advise you check the intake tube.

 

Could a new K&N drop in filter make it whistle a little? Its not very loud I can just barely hear it. I just recently got the car and I never really noticed it at first but like I said I just barely got the car.

 

Yes it could. I posted that a few posts before. THe K&N does make your car whistle a bit. I personally like it
