+1^^^^^ Worked like a charm for me. If you have any glue residue left on the car, use some Goo Gone and then wipe the area clean. wash and Wax the area afterwards to to remove the remaining residue from the glue.

Use Goo-Gone too if you have any glue remaining on your car. That stuff works well and just heat it up and should come off.

do NOT use goo gone - regular soap/water will take off the residue, and if not, put some car wax on it and let it set for a while, it will get it off.

i used goo gone before painting my trunk and it screwed up my paint.

I used it just fine. Even on my last car, fellow Bimmer owners recommended using Goo Gone to debadge as well.

I guarantee that if you used the goo gone correctly, it would not have damaged your paint. my guess is either you left it one for too long, didnt clean the surface good enuf when you were done, or you had a paint issue in the first place.
ive used goo-gone on auto paint about 25 times, and ive never had one problem.
please dont pass on bad info, as it messes up everyones head!

I actually use something strong than goo gone, it's called Goof Off. Basically paint thinner. Rub on, let sit for a small while, rise off, and repat until fully cleaned off, then give it a nice wash once your all done. If you leave any of the products on to long, it will eat through the clear.
