Scrape Scrape Scrape Scrape

Just a little more than a week after installing my HKS Hipermax RS coilovers, -20mm front , -10mm rear(preset by HKS), I've been scraping many driveways(those @#$#@ ones that resemble a tiny hill). I took them at the best angle I could and still had to scrape. Messed up my y-pipe and wonder how many times I have to replace it. I'm thinking of raising the car back to stock height.
Got a question though.
If my y-pipe's scraping, is that the front being too low ? I'm thinking of raising the front by 10mm but don't want to pay someone twice to do it if it's wrong. (I'd do it myself but I don't have a garage or jackstands)

You dont need jackstands, just use your car jack...

I scrape too (Tein Basic Coilovers, @ 1" F, .8" R), but its mainly my muffler is the one that scrapes and its on certain inclines. Perhaps what you are hearing scraped is the Muffler, not the Y-pipe.

Nah its the Y-pipe, the flex joints are ruined. Besides, I can feel it scraping. Feels like its comin from right under me.

I had my car slammed on Tein and oh my God talk about my oil pan took a beating. I raised it a little bit because I was worried about cracking my tranny. Bring it up a little bit. Usually it gets lower as things settle into place

Sorry But it's reality...In my SI I bottomed out so bad from being dropped so low that I snapped my shift linkage! Bring it up just a bit once it settles in you should be able to bring it down to where you want it without scrapping. The worse things that can happen from being dropped to low from my experience are
1.snapping inner outer tie rods
2.crack your tranny
3.crack your oil pan
4.snap or bend your shift linkage
5.get stuck on the ramp at the Burger King drive through (yes this happened to me and we had to rock the car off the ramp)
7.constant bottoming out results in a bent floor
8.exhaust and headers can get bent or cracked or in some cases torn off.
9. lots of camber if you dont have a correction kit which chews your tires.
Take my advise bring it up just a bit and you'll be okay and save some money

Ah, high centering...the pain of the G Coupe. I used to high center when I was stock height at times. I'm lowered on HKS RS as well, cracked my y-pipe before.

Raising the front will help a liitle. You still have to go real slow on speed bumps and don't drive over any small mounds or hills. Avoid them like the plague. You can also scrape on ramps in parking garages too, watch out if it looks like too steep of a transition.
