Risks of turning on ur G35.

Well .. Since we should NEVER go past the speed limit for fear of endangering others, including our own lives.. Not to point any fingers.. Here are some risks involved with your G.

1) You are polluting the world. Everyone is going to breathe bad air and die.
2) There could be a terrorist car bomb in your car which would undoubtedly blow you up, along with anything near by.
3) The parking brake may fail and you might roll ur G into someone's house.. Or better yet .. A PRESCHOOL.
4) The battery could spontaneously combust and might lead to an explosion of your gas tank.
5) You might turn the engine on and since you left it in 1st gear (to prevent it from rolling in case of parking brake failure) might lurch forward and kill someone.
6) The heated seats may start an electrical fire when the circutry blows up and burn you down along with your car, not to mention any adjacent structures.
7) You might have a hot girl in the car and any activities which may follow could result in back injury due to the nature of the backseat centerconsole.
8) The airbag could suddenly ignite and your face will be burned.

Those are only the essentials.. There are infinitely more possibilities...

Now .. as for driving the car 5mph to start.

1) Tire could explode and you could swerve into oncoming traffic causing a multi-vehicle accident.
2) The accelerator can go crazy, and you could crash into someone.
3) You can lose steering and crash.
4) You're going so slow someone rear-ends you killing both.
5) A cop could give you a ticket for blocking traffic.
6) Gas tank can still ignite.
7) Air bags can still blow up.
8) Batteries can still combust.
9) Car might all the sudden shut off and you can crash.
10) You hit a pothole, lose control of the car, and hit a lightpole; eventually die.

And of course many many more. Don't let me get into 10mph dangers...

Gee...That wasn't at all sarcastic...I don't remember anyone saying that no one should exceed the speed limit, but whatever

There's a gray area between "aggressively" and "recklessly." That's where the debate came in.

Regardless of who's right or wrong here, there will be no insulting of anyone by anyone. Feel free to insult the opinions or cars, though.

Re: Risks of turning on ur G35.

I wasn't insulting anyone, as I used to drive the same way when we were flying around in Chicago traffic...And I'll admit that I got a little too into my point...My only reason for getting so heated was that if some recklessly driving teens can learn from someone's experience they should, without having to learn the hard way...It isn't fun when a friend of yours kills himself and 2 innocents...Especially when his argument was always that he was a good driver- rounded a blind turn doing in excess of 120MPH (police estimate) on a "wide open" stretch of road and encountered a wall of traffic (the X factor I was referring too, as he had no way of knowing that was coming up and not enough time to react...I too am an aggressive driver, and I point out that I was taking issue with speeds in excess of 100MPH, not 75 or 85 on the highway, and weaving through traffic...I simply think that the public shouldn't have to deal with the overly aggressive driving of others...Not trying to fuel the debate, just explaining my stance- don't want anyone to feel insulted...

I agree...And no, I'm not "afraid" to drive aggressively now...I just have a slightly different view of aggressive driving now...Before I used to view anyone in my way or going slower than me as a nuisance- now I try to just tone it down a little...I'm not at all saying to not enjoy the capabilities of the G, and if I was it shouldn't matter what I say anyway...I'm all for getting whatever power can be extracted by these engines (I think we all know the VQ is capable of at least 600HP), but I feel that the track is the place to post triple digit speeds- which is just my opinion

How many times do you get to unlease our babies in a track compared to driving it down an empty highway/freeway which is the same thing.

If you're in a town with access to a track you can go relatively frequently...Do whatcha want, this is just one driver's belief, and one that was instilled in me by a former professional...It shouldn't matter what I think- your car, you're gonna do what you want...It's obvious I'm not going to be swayed or that you're going to think 100+ isn't for the public roads, so to each his own...

Re: Risks of turning on ur G35.

What ryoken said, mostly. If you know you're alone on the road, sure, go for it. You're allowed to risk your own life. I've had my own G up to 125 mph, but I was coming down a long hill on a highway and could see for miles ahead of me. I've also done fairly nutty things like use my GTech to run quarter mile times on the highway, but I had a friend hanging back at the previous exit making sure nobody came barrelling down on me while I set up (we took turns). So I think I'm pretty open-minded about this stuff.

But if you're NOT alone on the road, or are heading into a blind curve, you need to slow that [censored] down. You don't have the right to decide whether the guy coming the other way lives or dies. That's the problem with aggressive driving in traffic: if one guy takes a dumb risk, everyone around him has to take his dumb risk too. Would you think it's okay if I came skidding around a curve going way too fast (lack of LSD hurts) and plowed into your mother's car? It's not even common sense, it's basic human decency. You don't get to risk the life of another person, period.

There is a risk w/ practically everything you do in life. Risks are meant to be taken, love it or leave it.

Re: Risks of turning on ur G35.

I'd just like to point out that "open highway" and "track" are not the same thing. A track is a controlled environment. A highway is not. Accidents can happen in either place, but people who aren't racing and aren't looking for you to be racing can suddenly appear in the darndest places on a highway.

I'm not perfect myself. For instance, I can tell you that it's quite possible to drive between Corpus Christi and Houston in less than 3 hours (it's longer than 3-1/2 hours at 5 over). I can also tell you that an '86 Accord LXi will only go 115mph in either 4th or 5th gear. At least I had the sense to have fairly new S-rated tires when I did that one. And, it was daylight, flat road, you could see for miles, and there were cars on the road, but they were behind me or several miles in front of me. We're talking flat Texas land.. you could see for miles in all directions, so there weren't any side streets to worry about, either.

Just watch yourselves out there. Don't become (or make someone else) a statistic.
