Maybe your friend can order the covers from the dealer? When I had my camaro, you were able to buy the "covers" from GM. On most leather seats, you are able to change them. I'm sure you can on the Z as well.

 

I can give an unbiased opinion concerning sedan seats versus Z's.I've never sat in the coupe for an extended period of time but my Z's seats are way more supportive than my sedan's.Both cars have leather seats.

Why doesn't your buddy just do an aftermarket leather on his seats? Anyhow, the Z seats are not "carbon fiber something". The cloth seats in the Z come in only one color which Nissan calls CARBON.

The Z seats in my opinion are pretty uncomfortable. I don't really think they are ugly but they are straight up racing seats. I personally wouldn't be comfortable driving in that seat. The G seats are more bolstered and offer a lot more cushioning. The Z seats feel like your sitting on the floor. Its not bad looking though

 

I think i can speak aout this with some authority.

I recently drove from new york to san diego in my Z - with my wife and dog.

If I told you that the seats were Sooo comfortable that we did750-1000 miles a day - and that my back (which usually starts hurting after 2hrs) felt so good, I wanted to drive an extra 200 miles each day...b/c I just didnt feel *tired* at all!!

12 hours a day in a seat IMO is a great seat.
BTW the Z seats come in a frost color too (white). You havent lived until you've sat in a daytona blue z with frost interior...

BTW my wife thinks that the Z seats are easier to get comfy in than her Fx35/awd/tech - what with all the crazy power adjustments and all...
