I took my G in today for noisy tranny which i've been complaining about since day 0.
I had the mechanic drive with me, he heard the noise but he said something about having a rubber piece on top of flywheel that rubs against the flywheel so it makes that noise. he kept on talking about 3-piece synchronizer, and how they fitted the 6th gear in there. his conclusion was everything is fine.

That guys was probably bull****ting me. does anyone know exactly how the transmission on 6mt coupes is engineered? why did they put that rubber layer, and what does it serve?
if there are links to visualize the g35 6mt tranny that'd be great.
any info/links are appreciated as well.

 

mine was making a little noise with the out and costa mesa infinity, CA replaced with a $4,500 tranny for free (dealer price + labor). try another dealership, go to a small one they want your business.

 

do you have information on what the warranty is for tranny?
i have less than 2k on the car. i dont want to pay a penny to be honest haha..
how did you manage to get them to do it for free?
