More burning oil questions...
Actually, I just re-read the large oil burning post and it sounds like the threshold for replacement is more than one quart every 1000 miles.

Alright this is a shot into the dark. I have put a oil catch on my car to catch any oil that is being sent to my plenum. I have found that I have to empty it back into my engine every three or four days since i drive pretty hard. It is the home made one form the forum. Maybe you guys should try it to see if this changes things. I promise you will be very surprised at the amount of oil that is being pushed into the plenum area. I drove to Florida and when i got there after six hours of driving the the thing was almost full of oil.

Um..yeah, Nissan/Infiniti put that threshold amount not the Dealers.
Makes sense if your VQ uses more than that amount, it's got major problems in addition to the high vacuum thing during break-in and should be replaced.
If it were per oil change, then I would've gotten a new VQ a long time ago, which now is fine and doesn't hardly use any oil now. Mine also continues to improve.
Replacement really wasn't necessary with mine.

my engine was pretty easy to get replacedfirst oil change i burned 4 qts and the first 1000 miles after that i burned another 2 qts the damage to my engine was pretty obvious by the time i took it in it my engine sounded like some little kids bike who stuck cards in the spokes but it didt help that i was driving around at 6000rpms the whole nite b4 i didnt want the engine that broke in like that i was makin sure i was gettin a new engine
You should still be under warranty, in which case you'd get a new engine. You need to call an Infiniti dealer, give them your VIN, and ask them when your warranty is up. It will probably be sometime this year, so I would get on it fast while you're still in your period.
they have to give u a new on eknite they cant give u a used one and as far as i know they have to warranty the new one up untill 60000 miles or whatever w have for a warranty on our cars
with a name liek cutiewolf please tell me ur a girl haha ive heard of people gettin refused warranty work for test pipes they could give u crap for all the mods but if u put up a fight u will prob win my dealer new about all my mods and swapped them over when they did the engine swap but i also know people that have been refused i uess it depends how cool ur dealewr is mines a stillen dealer also so i guess that helps
