Re: Top Five Shortcomings

Here are my 5 shortcomings.... I really hate doing this cause I love my car.... but here goes:

1) foot rest on the driver's side is made for someone with midget feet (I have 6-speed MT)... I have a size 11 shoe, so I think that I am in the norm here and I cannot comfortably rest my foot on that when I am not shifting
===> solution: Fire the engineer at Nissan responsible and hire someone with some common sense

2) No fully automated seats (with memory control)
===> solution: well, no one but me drives my car, but sometimes people do sit behind me and the seat does not go back to the original position.... Add in and charge an extra $300 MSRP.

3) Rattling coming from everywhere in the coupe.... I have gotten my rear deck checked out 3 times and finally the noise has been reduced so that when I play music, the bass is finally clear
===> solution: Don't use cheap plastic panels that snap into one another. Use screws like normal people and charge an extra $5 to the MSRP.

4) My beautiful coupe gets fingerprints that really stand out because I have black..
===> solution: Kill every F ' ing basterd who does not have the common courtesy to not touch the F ' ing paint. Stupid basterds.

5) VDC.... This should have a permanent ON/OFF button. What is this crap that it automatically comes on every time you start up the car....
===> solution: Add a flash memory chip that will enable the computer to keep the setting that was there when the car was shut off. Stupid computer programs.

I hate just bad mouthin this stuff because there are a lot of really good points about the car:

1) The coupe looks sick! Nothing like it out there. (Sedan looks too commonplace for a $30k car - IMO)

2) Engine.... I love this engine

3) Suspension.... Need I say more

4) Braking and tires... On the 6MT, they are sick

5. Trunk room (just kidding...)....

6. Interior is designed nice, but just needs higher quality materials.

These are my 8 cents.

Here's to alcohol : The cause of ... and answer to all of life's problems.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

1) Tire&oil pressure gauge, battery gauge, stopwatch, shift light.

--> buy a 350z.

2) Itz got 2 stupid extra seats in the back.
--> fold down back seats.

3) No Bose sub and tweeters suck.
--> Buy a factory Bose amp, Bose sub for Gsedan/350z, install expensive tweeters.

4) Front wheels don't fill wheel wells enough.
--> Get some nice 19's and good springs.

5) The metal-looking plastic interior which looks good but feels cheap.
--> Clear coat the pieces, reinstall OR Buy a BMW.

As to G35 sedan being better. HAH. It looks too plain, no Brembo's, who needs back seats, every other person seems to have one... Solution? Buy a 5 series, new TL, S430, or GS430. kthnxbye.

Crappy Paint! and the uncomfortable seat belt that strangles the driver's neck.

In Japan, they offer a 5-year clear coating which the US doesn't (sigh...). That be one of the lows. The others like hard to reach VDC button, no auto recline, and small trunk space. That's about it. I'm still happy wit the coupe!!! The style and the power took over me I love the coupe!

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

How about an indicator in the gauge cluster that lets you know when your low beams and fog lights are on???? I know you can just look at the lever, but with your lights set to auto it's sometimes hard to tell.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

There is 3 12v power souces inside the car:
1. the cigarette/cigar lighter
2. the passenger side console
3. the center console storage box between the front seats.

Do any of you take the time to read your manual(bible)? It explains all kinds of stuff, like everything the car comes with, lol.

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

You know, this was pretty enlightening...almost every shortcoming listed was aesthetic more than performance oriented (with a few exceptions). I share a lot of the cosmetic/feature(s) gripes that you guys have, but all-in-all, what this little exercise has demonstrated is that we're all pretty happy with the drivetrain/chassis/suspension equation.

Of course, I got lil tweaks and tunes cooking in my neandertal head ;-)

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

I'll give you my address so you can deliver me your car, because there is a power outlet in the center console of my car, and it is in my manual, lol.
You can put the cigar lighter in the passenger side outlet and it works, so does this mean that you don't consider this a 12v power outlet?
whitelightnin-up will ya

Re: Top Five Shortcomings

The AT has three outlets, not the MT...from what I remember about my test drives. I own an MT, and it has only two outlets in the car...
